Identity protection will protect you against the increasing amount of Internet fraud attacks: Theft of confidential information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.), fraudulent web pages, and redirection of dial-up connections to premium-rate numbers.
Follow these steps to enable this protection:
Go to the Status menu in the main program window.
In the Protection section, click Settings.
Click Identity protection and make sure that the Enable identity protection option is selected.
The following options can be configured in this screen:
Detect transmission of confidential information: This feature will prevent your confidential information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.) from leaving your computer without your prior consent. You can specify which information you want to protect. This means that if it detects that confidential information is being sent without your authorization, will display a pop-up message asking for your confirmation.
Enable the protection against fraudulent websites: When you enable this option, will detect and neutralize web pages used for fraud.
Detect attempts to dial unauthorized phone numbers: This option is useful if you use a modem to connect to the Internet. When you enable this option, the program will block calls to unauthorized numbers and display a warning. To set the numbers to which calls will be allowed, click Settings. For more information, refer to Configuring calls to unauthorized numbers.
